Aspirin 300 mg PO loading (chewed)

Salbutamol 5 mg nebulised, oxygen-driven

Omeprazole 20 mg PO OD (full-dose PPI), 4–8 weeks

Enoxaparin 40 mg SC OD (LMWH)

Single IV dose at induction for prophylaxis (agent per local policy)

Paracetamol 1 g PO/IV QDS (regular backbone)

NaCl 0.9% 500 mL IV over <15 min (resus bolus)

Bulk-forming (ispaghula) first; osmotic (macrogol) if stools hard

Paracetamol 1 g QDS — first-line, safest

IM adrenaline 1:1000, anterolateral thigh — dose by age

Analgesia (paracetamol / ibuprofen); most resolve without antibiotics

Dexamethasone 150 mcg/kg PO, single dose

Bladder training first; then an antimuscarinic (oxybutynin / tolterodine / solifenacin)

Emergency: levonorgestrel ≤72 h · ulipristal ≤120 h · copper IUD ≤120 h. Ongoing: COC or POP

Dose 5 mg/kg (normal renal function) or 2–3 mg/kg (renal impairment); re-dose by the nomogram

Metformin first-line; add/switch to an SGLT2 inhibitor at any stage if heart failure, established CVD or high CV risk — type the drug name (there may be no link to click)

Match the insulin to its onset/duration — rapid (NovoRapid), short (Actrapid), intermediate (Humulin I), long (Levemir / Lantus / Tresiba), mixed (Humulin M3)

Prescribe by drug name — but the triple-therapy brands (Trimbow / Trelegy Ellipta) are worth typing as a shortcut for the long combinations

Know the chronic ladder and the acute bundle for each — and the two different prednisolone courses (COPD 30 mg, asthma 40–50 mg, both ≥5 days)

Separate the two: T1 is insulin-deficient, ketosis-prone, autoimmune, young/lean; T2 is insulin-resistant, not ketotic, older/obese

Know which diabetic drugs to continue, omit on the day, or stop early around surgery — and which insulins to reduce

Diagnose on OGTT (the "5678" rule), then treat by the fasting glucose threshold
