Mrs Barnes, 68, has newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation and a mechanical mitral valve. She is being started on warfarin. Counsel her about the medication.

The patient answers what you ask and volunteers nothing you do not. If they start to ramble you can cut them off, as you would in the room.
